Walking Directions from South Garage to McHugh Hall  

The Lawrence D. McHugh Hall is a 5-minute walk from the South Parking Garage.  

  1. Turn right out of the parking garage and walk back along Jim Calhoun Way to Hillside Rd. 
  2. Turn left onto Hillside Road and walk, passing Gampel Pavilion, until you are in front of the North Entrance of Gampel. 
  3. Cross the street and walk down Fairfield Way, a pedestrian pathway. The Student Union should be on your left and the School of Business should be on your right.
  4. Directly after you pass the Student Union, the front entrance to McHugh Hall will be on your left.
  5. Registration will be located in the lobby.

 Walking Directions from North Garage to McHugh Hall  

The Lawrence D. McHugh Hall is a 6-minute walk from the North Parking Garage.  

  1. Exit the garage and walk towards the heart of campus on Hillside Rd., towards the Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts.
  2. Continue on Hillside Road, passing the Jorgensen on your left.
  3. At the intersection with Glenbrook Road, cross the street and continue on Hillside Road, passing the Student Union, on your left.
  4. Directly after you pass the Student Union on the left, turn left onto Fairfield Way, a pedestrian pathway. McHugh Hall will be ahead on your left.
  5. Registration will be located in the lobby.

By Air

Bradley International Airport (BDL)

Bradley International Airport is the closest to UConn. You can arrange a UConn Airport Shuttle (~$60). Reservations are required one week in advance. Exact fare amount due upon arrival. Alternatively, you can arrange a car service (Lindsey Limousine) or take a taxi (~$85). Taxis are available outside of the airport but if one is not readily available, please go to the Ground Transportation desk and they can arrange a taxi for you.

By Bus

Peter Pan Bus

Peter Pan buses come to UConn Storrs twice a day from Hartford, New York City, Boston and other cities.

  • In Storrs, the Peter Pan bus picks up and drops off on Hillside Rd. in front of the UConn Co-op.
  • In Hartford, the Peter Pan bus picks up and drops off at Union Station, bus depot and train station (One Union Place, Hartford, CT 06103).
  • In New York City the Peter Pan bus picks up and drops off at the Port Authority Bus Terminal (8th Ave and 42nd St).
  • In Boston, the Peter Pan bus picks up and drops off at Logan Airport (BOS) outside of Terminals A, B, C, E.

By Car

From the West – Interstate 84 East to Exit 68. From exit, take a right onto Route 195, and follow for 7 miles to campus.

Alternate directions from the West – Interstate 84 East to Interstate 384 East. At end of Interstate 384 East, take left fork to Route 44 East. Follow Route 44 East to intersection with Route 195. Take a right onto Route 195 and follow the signs to campus.

From the East – Interstate 84 West to Exit 68. From exit, take a left onto Route 195, and follow for 7 miles to campus.

From the Southeast – Interstate 95 to 395 North. Take Exit 81 West to Route 32 North. Follow Route 32 North to Willimantic. In town, turn right and go over bridge. Continue straight through the light and follow 195 North for 8 miles to campus.

Visitors may park in either the North or South parking garages.

UConn uses Paybyphone https://www.paybyphone.com/ for parking payments. There are also payment kiosks on the ground floor of the garage. Parking should be paid for at the beginning of your visit each day.

Helpful Tips When Visiting Campus 

Recommended attire is business casual. We do recommend that you dress in layers, as temperatures in meeting rooms can vary. Comfortable shoes are also recommended for navigating campus. 

Bring an umbrella, as the weather may vary during your stay.   

There are water-bottle filling stations throughout campus, so bring yours! Can’t find a filling station? Ask one of your UConn hosts!
