Poster Session

Poster Awards

The ICSA Applied Statistics Symposium is pleased to invite poster submissions.

  • The poster competition will be judged by a distinguished panel, featuring keynote speakers, senior invited speakers, ICSA leaders, symposium committee members, and faculty and senior statisticians from academia, industry and government agencies.
  • All submitted posters will be evaluated and rated by expert judges. Presenters will have opportunities to engage in discussions and interactions with judges, attendees, and prospective employers.

The 2025 poster session and mixer will take place on June 17, 2025. The time slot is tentatively scheduled for 6 – 8 p.m. (we will confirm the exact start and end times at a later date).

Presenters are eligible for the poster competition if they meet these conditions:

  • They are a student, postdoc, junior faculty member, or junior statistician with a PhD or terminal degree conferred in 2020 or later.
  • They are the first author of the poster.
  • They are not a student paper award winner.
  • They register for the symposium by the due date [May 1] and check the box labeled “eligible for the poster award competition.”

Three to six winners will be selected based on the poster award evaluation criteria:

  • Methodology: novelty and appropriateness for research aims
  • Applications: significance, rigor, and impact
  • Poster quality: logical flow, organization, effectiveness in conveying key message
  • Presentation quality: clear explanation and effective communication
  • Significant strengths or weaknesses not already mentioned in the other criteria

Each winner will receive a monetary prize ($550 for each prize) and a certificate at the symposium awards ceremony, on June 18, 2024.
